The record would prices for most staple foods have led to 18 per cent food price inflation in China,13 per cent in Indonesia and Parkistan,And 10 per cent or more in Latin America,Russia and India,according to the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation.

The price rises were a result of record OIL PRICES,US farmers switching from cereals to grow biofuel crops,

extreme weather ,and growing demand from India and China,"There is no one cause but a lot of things are coming toghter to lead

to this".

The drought is set to make its presence felt this festive season.Prices of everything from beer to turkey are expected to sore.

And experts say there will be no reprieve for a couple of years.
