Celebrities love hair extensions. But there is growing concern that THE POOR pay the price for the lovely tresses of the rich.

In India the human hair trade is now worht more than $A340 million annually.

But factory workers are POORYLY PAID and spend days sorting and cleaning the collected hair in often substandard conditions.

At one of the Hindu temples of Tirupati in India,a child head is shaved as part of an ancient ritual.

These days,the shaved hair is sold for use is the hiar salons of the West. SOME of them used by cancer patients.
