The Winter

The last week when I walking the street this puppy's looking out the windows that is so cute! And he had nice clothes too. Smile
I just thought was that his mum's wearing nice jacket?  Eye-rolling

It's Winter. just like that, the warmth has gone away. It just doesn't seem fair.We console ourselves all we like that we need winter for the film festivals and the bookworm that people are enjoy the rain and the regrowth in the garden.

But I don't buy it. Winter is nasty. It bnothers the elderly and gives the young NASTY COLD. The RAIN!" wonderful rain that we needed badly but the leaves look miserable going soggy in the gutter and the dark dismal skies, grey flat light megrim weather. Even when there is sunshine it slants low, making everything look too late but I know that WE MUST NOT COMPLAINT IT. after all a shocking the dry weather that we have had in the last summer time.

This is good time to blogging but these day I found nothing excitanted news either and plus I get sick of seen that "Please try again" after all nice comment on my friends space thats put me off my blogging. Angry

The swine flu

What should the comunity's response be to the strain of flu bearing the name of Pigs? How scared should we be?
Certainly, warnings this week from fedearal Health Minister Nicola Roxon that the virus had"taken hold" and Government was looking at new ways to contain it,
coupled with predications from Victoria's acting chief medial officer,Rosemary Lester, that it ultimately could infect one in five people--that is 4 million Australians---
are sufficient reason for concern.

And, worryingly, the number of confirmed casesection continues to climb. As of late yesterday vic 874 cases of swine flu with a further 122 cases confirmed over night.
The virus will spread quickly. When this happens, which could be sooner than we expect, containment and the quarantining of an increasing become impractical and too disruptive to the community, especially if those being quarantined show no symptoms.

SIGAPORE has became the first country to advise its residents NOT TRAVEL TO VICTORIA.

Health authorities will then have to consider whether to abandon this approach in favour of a process that focuses on managing, rather than eradicating, the problem.
The response of the media to the swine flu situation could not be more counter--productive.The news papers started scaremongering.
Headlines such as "OUTBREAK" and rumours of starting a "swine toll" are irresponsible and are resulting in significant increases in attendances to emergency departments and GP.

As we head into the flu season, the chances of catching influenza--swine or otherwise--will inevitably increase. But NO REASON to PANIC.As Franklin D Roosevelt would have conselled: there is nothing to fear but fear itself. A deadly threat? Pigs might Fly away?.

Parents'insight to take over the blind school

Mr & Mrs Lachman and their daughter Francesca.

When Vision Australia made its controversial decision to close the only Victorian school for blind students,Alan Lachman swore his seven-years-old daughter Francesca would not be forced back into the main stream system.
Instead Mr Lachman and his wife,Maria Franca, decided to establish a private school for blind and vision-impaired students, saying the Government system could not cater for everyone.
"We put our Francesca into a mainstream schol and watched her go backwards." Mr lachman said."She struggled with the noise and number of students it doesn't work for everyone."

The new school, called the INSIGHT EDUCATION CENTRE for the Blind and Vision Impaired, will lease buildings on the grounds of Best chance in Glen Waverley,a charity that also hosts a primary school for childern with social and learning difficulties on the site.
Insight will eventually provide places for 48 full time primary students.up to 750 other students will be able to come to the school on a part-time basis to use its specialist facilities.

The school will have Braille laptops, mobility workshops run by the Guide Dogs Association and a big music facility,Mr Lachman said.
Students will pay an annual fee of about $1000 to attend full time and the school will seek federl and state funding.

Mr Lachman-who said he had a business background and established a training centre in Italy willbe the chief executiveofficer. Two principals will be appointed to run the primary and secondary schools.
The Lachmans and their three daughters, including Francesca, who is cingenitally blind, returned to Australia after 18 years in Italy so that Francesca had the choice of attending a specialist school.

Just month after she began at the Burwood Education Centre,it was announced that it would close."To say it was a shock would be a major understayement," her father said.
Insight will apply for registration in August and about 35 primary students are expected to be enrolled when it opens in 2010.

The weather that everyone knows. every year the same And yet we still seem so astonished thats not so along ago.Wink
"Can you believe this weather?" Yes! I can. Anyone who has been here for more than a week knows about it,the weather change A lot. Frequently in Melbourne.Eye-rolling
How much affecte for ourlives? in the way that we are wishes for the wedding day,A holidays and so many otherway for a good weathers.Tongue out
There has always been an interest in the weather. But people are now more WORRIED about the FUTURE than they are about tomorrow's weather or next week's sporting fixture.Thinking

This year we had a bad natural disaster the bush fires (February) and dry weather for last three year (still is in Victoria). Some states (QLD)had their water restrictions was over because they had flooding.Sad Nth NSW had under water as well.Sad
There are many things in llife that genuinely warrant SURPRISE but not these way. And people where living on their tourism places.(over 25c degree) and the started season time for them to a lots of people visits there but not this year? Disappointed
With out these natural disaster still our future is an uncertain destination for the whole of the world. Wilted rose

These people who had lost theier home and theier familly that I sincerely hope for recovery quickly as possible. Red heart

AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE.

NOT known for sleeping on the job, these sleepy Guide Dog puppies have a lot to learn before they can hit the streets.
A wonderful service the dogs provide to the blind people's.
Leanne daniels, pictured with faithful companion Dona,is facing an uncertain future.

VISION-IMPAIRED Leanne Daniels can tell night from day,but nothing else.It has been that way since her early 30s.
On Wendensday, she was sacked by her employer,Vision Australia. and told to leave the office and get into a taxi within 20 minutes.
Her role helping the blind and vision-impaired was he "passion",not just a job,and now she thinks she may never work again.

The sacking of Ms Daniels and 130 people at non-profit Vision Australia offices throughout the country, including 22 who are vision-impaired, has sparked clims of ruthless behaviour by an organisation that exists to help the blind.
Ms Daniels 51 said I was originally told stay until the end of the day."I'd been upstaires for only 15 or 20 minutes. I was paged to be told my taxi was waiting",
"They said, 'Your taxi is here and you have to leave now'."

Ms Daniels was devastated.she said:"I feel very betrayed and I also feel like I've done something wrong."
She has explained later a passion. Her work involved helping people use government services and deal with taxis and the like. she also made initial contact with clients and acted as an informal counsellor, dealing with the young and their families through to the elderly.

Vision Australia chief executive Gerard Menses denied that services would be affected or that the organisation had been heartless. He said there was"no good way to tell people that their job is gone". He also denied staff had been marched out of the offices on Wednesday and said some people had asked to be escorted.

When announcing the job cuts,Mr Menses blamed the financial crisis for a drop in income that slahed its budget by $13 million to $75 million.
The Australian Services Union said it was "appalled" at the way Vision Australia had treated staff.

I hope she 'll get some thought of help from the Governments. You can't left alone those prople' in our society.

The Mother in new plea..

Shani Cassidy(above)                                                                                                                                 Shani's son Tyler: flowers at the shoothing:and, would a
                                                                                                                                                                stun gun have saves Tyler?

Four months after police SHOT dead Tyler Cassidy.15. during a confrontation at a Northcote skate park, his mother has renewed a call for street police to use TASER STUN GUNS.Thinking Tyler would have been 16. 20 April. but instead of celebrating at home as the family had planned, Shani Cassidy spent another day mourning.Sad

"I'm certain that if Tasers were accessible to police he'd be here, not in grave." she said. "I know there's a chance there could be an injury, but Tasers provide an option to live. Another child does not have to die."

Mrs Cassidy is PLEASED that new police Commissioner Simon Overland has flagged the possibility of widespread use of the stun guns, now limited to the special Operation Group and he critical incident response team. But the review needs to be fast tracked an Tasers given to street offices as a priority, she says.

A coronial inquest into Tyler's shooting is still many months away, but Mrs Cassidy has become a passionate advocate for Tyler, who was armed with two stolen knives and was agitated during the confrontation on December 11. Tyler is believed to be the youngest person police have shot and killed in Australia.
Why needed to be killed?Eye-rolling

Mrs Cassidy says the months since Tyler's death have been agonising for her and his older brother,Blake. She has been unable to resume full time work, although she has support from family, friend and church. Mrs Cassidy also wears the crucifix that her son had always worn around his neck."It has been"loke his second skin",she says and was given to Tyler by his father, Ian,who died from cancer in December 2004.Sad

She is writing a book about the family's experience under the working title Forever Young."It will be a mother's journey of losing a child and the process involved in getting to the end," she says. After negotiation with Darebin City Council,Mrs Cassidy has also commissioned and paid for a commemorative plaque, which willl be placed on a bench at the All Nations Park near where he was killed. It will read in part"Tyler Jordan Cassidy,15 years young ...Gone too soon."

Being mother myself I can feel just how sorry for her(Mrs Cassidy) I hope she have a lovely Mother,s day with Blake (Tyler's older brother).10th May.Red heartRed rose

The Phone Tapping

This was so truth of our way of life in today, Phiddling with one's mobile phone is a national phixation.Tongue out
DAVE just reached into his pants, pulled it out,and started fidding with it.DAVE STARTED FIDDLING WITH IT,RIGHT THERE,UNDER THE TABLE,IN THE MIDDLE OF A PLESANT SUNDAY BBQ--doing in front of his wife and friends and even children. I said "Jeeez Dave, put it away, not here!" but he just kept going ,his eyes glazed over a dumb grin on his lips--he said"Aimost finished...almost done..OK" then he popped it back in his pants and went straight back to his lamb cutlets like nothing ever hapened.Surprised

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT: I looked around the table to check if anyone had noticed, but nobody had---mostly because THEY WERE ALL TOO BUSY FIDDING UNDER THE TABLE TOO. Men,women, teenagers, all of them with the same glazed eyes, the same dumb grin, thumbing away on their mobile phones like a small orchestra of -armed thumb percussionists.Eye-rolling

People popping our their mobile phones and just playing with the thing for no reason at all THEY JUST CAN"T LEAVE IT ALONE.
You see them on street corners,on public transport a teenage talking to his friend and said where are you? I'm on the behind the carriage etc...Eye-rolling

MY OWN MOTHER DOES IT: she'll interrupt a conversation just to check her meassages, or adjust her display-photo,or change her ring-tone because she's sick of the Gummi Bears song and she wants Homer Simpson singing Spider-pig. It's a sinful,depraved,anti-social habit, and it can only lead to illness  and insanity.
Onec you 've started it's almost impossible to stopped.Wink

IT"S SICKO STUFF,and I'm glad I have no phone to phondle or phlash...Well I didn't ....until lats weekend. It was my birthday and I got some nice books, and a MOBILE PHONE.I got it from my mother. She said:"I KNOW YOU DONT LIKE THESE THINGS, but give it a try, you'll wonder how you ever managed without one!"
"But mum, I want to be uncontactable and anti-estableishment and tumourless!"  but she wasn't listening --she was too busy fidding with her own phone, trying to change her ring-tone to Get the $#!& Outta My House by 2 Live Crew.So the mobile phone sat on my desk in a little box and yesterday I thought,"Look, I'll just open it up,se what it's like, maybe just use it for EMERGENCIES and nothing else."
I got phone out of the box, popped in the battery, held it in my hand.It was smooth,silky...sensual.Then just quietly, alone in my room,I had a little fiddle:I spent 20 minutes trying to write my own name with predictive text.. Maybe I'll do it now and then. But not too much,I've heard it makes you go blind. Ha ha haWink
I thoughly enjoyed reading about his mum's addicted to her mobile phone. Smile  " Happy weekend everybody"Left hugRed heartRight hug
